Krittika: The Trail of Metamorphosis

The previous Nakshatra of Bharni signifies nourishment, sustenance and nurturing abilities which cognates to a mother bearing a child in her womb. Hence, when the umbilical cord (Bharni) is cut, a child is emancipated. Therefore, “a blade” is the symbol of this Nakshatra.

The word “Krit” signifies accomplishments/achievements, and this is the essence of Krittika Nakshatra. As the Nakshatra of the Sun, prominent planets in Krittika will either elevate the natives to greatness or subject them to suffering if afflicted.

Krittika is ruled by Agni and pertains to the Dahana Shakti (the Power to Burn and Purify). Intriguingly, a native with a prominent Krittika might delight in having candlelight dinners or being around a campfire.
